Crystal Cards: http://www.healingcrystals.com/cards.php Today, I wanted to talk about crystals and how their colors correspond to the chakras. It is a common practice to place crystals of like colors on the chakras to clear, balance, and align them. Like red crystals for the base, orange crystals for the sacral, yellow crystals for the solar plexus, green crystals for the heart and so forth....and while this is a good practice... I have found that placing crystals of the opposite color are more effective to balancing overactive chakras. For example, if you have an overactive base chakra....then that chakra is running on too much red energy...causing it to overload. So utilzing green crystals, since green is the opposite color of red, will balance that over abundance of red energy in the base chakra. If you have an overstimulated solar plexus, you can utilize violet crystals to balance this center, since violet is the opposite of yellow. I will post the chakra colors and their opposites below. Base Chakra: Red=Green Sacral Chakra: Orange=Blue Solar Plexus Chakra: Yellow=Violet Heart Chakra: Green=Red Throat Chakra: Blue=Orange Third Eye Chakra: Indigo=Orange Crown Chakra: Violet=Yellow (See below for color wheel chart) I have found that utilizing crystals of like color is helpful for balancing an underactive chakras or for general balancing. For example, if my throat chakra in undercative...then that center doesn't have enough blue energy...thus utilizing blue crystals will help add to the blue energy in that chakra, bringing it back to a state of balance. And in the same way, you can palce violet crystals at your crown chakra, to open that center....since the color of that chakra is violet. Another time I would utilize crystals of like color, is when I am doing a general balancing...meaning that my chakras are not too out of whack.. I feel that utilizing crystals of like color is effective when doing a general clearing and balancing...or if you're a beginner with crystals or chakra work. In summary, utilizing crystals of the opposite color can balance an overactive chakras....and crystals of like color can be utilzied on underactive chakras or for general balancing. Further more, the variety of crystals you can utilize on the chakras is truly limitless. You do not have to limit your chakra work to the color of the crystals. I find it is important to consider the properties of the crystals as well. For example, I like to place pink kunzite at the throat chakra because I feel it transmutes negativity in that center and replaces it with love. I also love placing Malachite at my solar plexus, as I feel it clears out stuck negative energy very effectively. So as you can see, the possibilities are endless....
